Paul’s decades-long career in financial services includes twenty years in public accounting, property development, personal finance banking, life insurance, training, investment management and financial planning.
Following his corporate career, Paul became an industry commentator on tax and superannuation planning. He also established financial planning, asset management and life insurance businesses for Norwich Union and Bankers Trust and was the founding general manager of both Norwich Australia Asset Management and Bankers Trust Life.
In 1991, Paul began a general consulting practice in Sydney, initially working on platforms and retirement products for many of Australia’s larger banks and fund managers. Giving back to the industry, Paul chaired the SIA’s syllabus committee for the development of a Master’s program in financial planning.
In 1994, he co-founded FinaMetrica out of a strong belief that there had to be a better way to assesses an individual investor’s tolerance for financial risk that was common industry practice to that date. Today, FinaMetrica is part of PlanPlus Global and has subscribing advisors in more than 20 countries, with more than 1.4 million risk profiles tests completed.
Over the years, Paul authored or co-authored a number of reviews and white papers regarding major changes in advice. His most recent project involves rules for delivering good advice and how they be best applied through technology.
