The PlanPlus Global Board of Directors is comprised of a group of senior executives with extensive, specific experience in financial services industry software development and distribution. The executive management members are supported by non-executive members who can present insights and advice from a technical point of view, along with the perspective of real-life users in the field.
GEORGE HARTMAN, MBA
CEO, Market Logics Inc.
George Hartman’s 45-year career as an advisor, executive, coach and consultant spans both the insurance and investment industries. An insightful industry observer and prolific writer, he has published four best-selling books for financial advisors and written The Coach’s Forum for trade journal Investment Executive for more than 10 years.
George is a keynote speaker at conferences around the globe. As one of the industry’s best-known advisor strategists and practice management mentors, he coaches top-performing advisors in Canada and the US and consults with financial firms on their business strategy. George has been a Director of PlanPlus Global for 20+ years.
IAN TULIP, BSc (Hons)
Prior to his retirement in 2013, Ian spent 37 years as a software specialist in the investment industry, playing several roles from purely technical to Head of R&D and other senior executive positions.
In 1985, Ian and two partners formed Linian Systems, whose flagship product, the MPower fund accounting system, is still in use in a large portion of the Canadian fund management industry. The company grew to 100+ people, before selling to StarData in 1994.
Ian then played a key role in growing X.Eye and its CRM/Portfolio Management product, until a successful sale to Odyssey Financial Technologies in 2008. Ian served as VP, Product Management through Odyssey’s acquisition by Temenos in 2010. He has been a PlanPlus Director since 2014.
GORDON GIBSON, BA, MBA
Gordon Gibson spent the first 24 years of his 30+ year career with National Bank Financial, as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. To help his organization cope with the rapidly changing retail investment industry, he later assumed the role of Vice President, Market Intelligence, Strategy & Communications, Wealth Management — a position he filled until his retirement in 2017.
Gordon has always had a strong focus on product development and providing the leadership, infrastructure and impetus to help distribution channels migrate from a transactional business model to comprehensive wealth management. He has been a Director of PlanPlus since 2004.
